Hello, everyone.

I'm going to host a community class next week for first aid and 'CPR' (it stands for Cardio-Pulmonary Ressucitation. It's a method to help manually pump a person's heart if it's stopped). Anyone is welcome to come, whether you've been here for a week or for months. In fact, I think everyone should come! With how intense emergencies are here, there's no knowing when you'll be in a situation where someone is bleeding profusely, burned, or has a broken bone. If you have any questions or want to help, let me know.

Also, if you have an interest in joining the Arztenritter, my door is always open and I'm more than happy to teach anyone who doesn't have experience. If you're not fond of horses, we do have chocobos now, and they're much different riding animals. A few of our members have departed in the past couple of months, and right now there are only four of us.

With that said... I have a separate question. And if it's too personal or philosophical, feel free to ignore it. I know many of you view this place as a prison, and that is understandable. But what if you've arrived here after dying? You can think about it hypothetically if you want, however... it isn't hypothetical for me, and I don't think I'm the only one that applies to.

To tell the truth, when I arrived I assumed that this was the afterlife. I don't think I have thought of it as a second chance, exactly... [too busy trying to not think about it.] But that is a good way to look at it.

A chocobo is a very large yellow bird, large enough to ride the way you would a horse. They have very different personalities, though.

For people like you, it's better that it's not the spirit realm either. You wouldn't want your soul to decay. You can use this time to refine it. Work on any regrets you may have had.

Do you eat them too? [THE ONLY THING SHE IMAGINE IS A GIANT CHICKEN.]

What do you mean "decay?" The soul isn't a physical thing--it can't break down or rot.

[CAN IT?? now she's realizing that--for obvious reasons--no one actually knows.]

I don't think people eat them. From my understanding, it would be like eating a horse. They're mounts and companions. You would only do it if you were desperate.

That's if we're talking about the physical realm. For the spirit realm, souls that have been lost for a time end up decaying. A soul can get to a point of turning into a ghost or worse.

Wait. Is that why spirits remain in the world as ghosts? [wait no she can't just accept someone talking about how the afterlife works without asking a few questions.] How do you claim to know all this?

Because I died and turned into a vengeful spirit before becoming a god.

[Ethlyn's reply is a while in coming. She has no idea how to respond to someone claiming to be a god. Although none on her world truly know what the gods look like--they took human form to grant their miracle--it's hard to picture a person at their desk dictating out such a sentence and having it actually be true.]

That's quite an audacious claim. And how did such a journey happen?

Hm? [Her journey, huh? Well, maybe this could help her for ideas with how to storyboard her tale for the Misogiya kids...]

It's a kind of gruesome story that'd I'd rather not tell on these charms.

[Oh. Okay well. Ethlyn can't say that's not a justified response. Even if she is skeptical of Dara's claim.]

My apologies. But it is a little hard to fathom a human ever becoming a god.

It's more like I'm the result of the human's spirit combined with the god that was sealed. It's complicated. I have the majority of my human memories, but I wouldn't say I'm that human anymore.

I have never heard of anything like that before.

I know my ancestors made a blood pact with our gods, and they attained great power, but they still remained human, enough to have families and pass on their bloodlines to the next genearation.

Not surprised. I sold my soul for this, but I was dying to begin with.

Your family got lucky. Sounds like you have some benevolent gods.

[Lucky... yes, in a sense. In the blessing from Svafrlami they were, but it didn't save them this time.]

I understand why you don't want to talk about it. [there's a pause.] I hope it was worth the trade.

Benevolent gods helping my ancestors fight off a terrible one. Sadly, we know little about them--they took a human appearance to make the pact.
