Has anyone been experiencing occasional instances of apparitions in this fog that has rolled in everywhere? I've found little evidence that this is a common occurrence, but I remain a new addition to this place.

No, but I hope it's not ghosts![Usagi Tsukino, the strongest in her galaxy, who has fought actual ghosts and won, is still very much scared of them. Then again, Japanese ghosts can be particularly horrifying.]And I don't exactly think there's a priest around with talismans! [Says the girl who can get rid of them herself if pressed.]

Ghosts of the past may be the only scenario we have to deal with. Priests do seem like they would be useless, and I wouldn't consider the value of one that's been sent to purgatory with the rest of us sinners.

Ghosts from my country are no joke. They can do some serious harm even if you have absolutely nothing to do with them.

Purgatory? I've met plenty of people who aren't dead before coming here. Calling us sinners seems a bit much, though.

Are they not incorporeal in your country? Sinners and criminals are generally synomous.

Sometimes. Sometimes they can do some very real damage and not be hurt in return without certain talismans, abilities, or magic. A couple of times some friends of mine have been possessed or they've lured me and my family into a trap. Generally, not always, and I refuse to assume. I've met plenty here who are criminals only because some paper from some mysterious person says so.

Interesting. What drives these apparitions to do harm? It's a rare person that isn't breaking someone else's laws somewhere.

Revenge, mostly, grudges and not caring who it hurts anymore since the person who tends to get hurt has nothing to do with the ghost besides being in the wrong at place wrong time or like... very loosely fitting what caused made the ghost and thr grunge like being an unmarried man, or a student, stuff like that.

Well, we agree to follow laws, sure, but if the laws don't fit the needs and safety of the people, then the laws need to be changed. If laws are unjust, then it doesn't matter if they're broken.

I suppose if one had a reason to haunt another, revenge would top the list. Laws could uphold order, or they could be used for oppression.

Yeah, but it doesn't say much that the ghost takes it out on innocent bystanders who aren't connected to the reason for revenge anymore.

That's why I said if laws are unjust, they should be broken. Oppression pretty much falls under "unjust."

That's a hazard of being an innocent. Sometimes you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. But when one side considers them just and the other side does not? Where do you draw the line for justice there?

I would have to hear what the laws ARE, can't just be like "oh, I side with this one side" in this whole thing when you haven't said what I'm deciding on besides "laws." Like, there are all sorts of laws.

So, I can't say "I draw the line here" when I don't even know what I'm supposed to be picking.

I try to be when it comes to things about justice.

I committed the crimes I'm accused of... but... it lacks... context.

Many crimes seem to lack context. I wonder if they consider that when hearing our cases.

I don't know... but I don't trust them to be in a considerate mood.

No, trust is not something built by stealing people from their homes and accusing them of crimes.

Especially if they aren't even around to explain things and just dropped us on the poor citizens heads.

They have been mostly welcoming, but I expect that will change as more of us arrive.

I don't think the issue is more of us, I think it's about how we treat them in return. They didn't ask for us to come anymore than we asked to be brought here.
