( video )
It seems that no matter where I find myself, flowers always carry a significant meaning, huh...?
[Ritsu has tried to focus the video on Aldrip's flower field, but since he's using a device that's utterly alien to him, he's decided to err on the side of caution and spend maybe a little too long panning over empty scenery. You know, just in case he's too zoomed in, or the image comes out too blurry, or something else of that nature.
Eventually, though, he does adjust it to focus on himself.]
Where I come from, each day is associated with a flower, and if you happen to be born on that day, then that flower is designated your "birth flower."
If you're interested, why not tell me your birthday? In exchange, I'll tell you your birth flower and its meaning. Given the wide selection of flowers here... maybe I'll even be able to find it.
[He has completely neglected to introduce himself, but clearly flowers are more important.]

[ He does finger-guns at the camera, I'm sorry. ]
Yeah, no kidding. If I had to get pulled into some multiverse nexus thing, I would've preferred it be on like a beach planet or something, not some dreary little town with barely any tech.
[ Just because it's practically a prison doesn't mean he can't have standards. ]

The lack of tech is pretty inconvenient, huh?
[He may not miss everything about the internet, but this place would really benefit from a search engine or two, he's just saying.]
What do you miss most, techwise?
no subject
Seriously. It's like something out of my nightmares.
[ Though that might have more to do with Peter's nightmares mostly taking place in the 80s. Either way, he's mostly just inconvenienced, not bothered. ]
It's gotta be my ship. Being planet-side has never really been it for me. I miss flying and being able to see the stars from up there.

[It sounds like Peter's home was more technologically advanced than his. He can see why a place like this would be a nightmare, then. There are probably so many comforts he's used to that simply don't exist here.]
Do you have a favorite star or constellation or anything?

[ Everything about Peter is a mix of old and new, from his 80s music tastes to his intergalactic lifestyle. It's no wonder he can't pick just one identity, really. ]
There's something awesome about watching the stars in the Andromeda Galaxy. They all like, spin, you know? Or that's what it looks like, anyway. I mean, the Milky Way has some really good ones, too. Knowhere's probably got the best view -- it's on the edge of the universe, and you get this awesome view of a black hole.

Have they... already mapped out the universe where you come from?
We must look like cavemen in comparison.

[ It's all so normal to Peter, he can't help but talk about these things like they're no big deal. ]
Aw, no way! I mean, there's species out there who think that, I'm not gonna lie. But just because Earth isn't caught up in terms of space travel, doesn't mean it's bad. I grew up there before I ended up out in space. We've got stuff that no other planet has, same as everywhere else. It's just different.

He finds himself wondering if Peter is the type who likes to explore uncharted places.]
I'm curious — what does Earth have that no other planet does? I imagine natural resources, but do we really have technological advancements nowhere else has?
no subject
Uh, I'm not real sure about the technology, to be honest. I haven't been back in twenty years, so I'm guessing we're... at the holo-message phase by now?
[ Wrong. Peter scratches his head. ]
But I mean, us Terrans are more adaptable than a lot of other species out there. We adjust to space well, we don't get too sick and sure, we're not bulletproof or anything, but we heal pretty quick. I think it's more of an attitude thing. Plus, our music's the best! At least in my opinion. I've heard some of the stuff from New Xandar, and it's like, super boring.
no subject
Oh yeah? Do you have a favorite genre?
no subject
But Peter's answer is immediate, 0 hesitation. ]
Oh, metal for sure. All the good stuff from the 80s is my jam. I can hang with some pop music if the synth is good, but metal beats it out, no contest.
