( so the holographic video begins with a close up of a girl biting her lower lip. the recording is wavering from side to side as if she's trying to do, well, something.)

Just a seeec...

( the girl says with more motion-sickness for the viewer. but she manages to get the mobile device propped up just right so she can be hands free. jinx grins big at her accomplishment while she scoots back in her seat, cross-legged. by the looks of her surroundings, she is somewhere up high, due to there being a lot of sky around her. and given the tiles she is sitting on, it's best bet she is on a roof -- possibly on the Inn's (and using the chimney to keep the device up). although everything seems to be squared away, she stays quiet -- just staring back with a smile so wide it could split her face in two. but then — )

So!

( jinx starts off as she digs in her pockets, then pulls out a pretty blue gemstone in which she carelessly tosses up in the air. )

What's everyone's crime?

( when she catches the gem with grace, jinx pops it straight in her mouth like it's a piece of candy. and as she sloshes it inside behind her lips, the girl looks up in thought -- talking with her mouth full no less. )

I got stuck with murder and illegal trading. So boring.

( rolling her eyes, jinx spits the gem out that's now filled with so much of her saliva (how disgusting), then resumes back to playing a game of catch with it. )

Sheesh, you'd think blowin' up a few buildings and starting a war would count WAY more. Whoever is in charge reeaaallly needs to fix their rating system.

[For a number of reasons, Rex had intended to ignore this transmission entirely. The girl seems a little more than a tad unhinged, and in all honesty, he's not at all willing to share his mildly humiliating sentence with a peanut gallery of interdimensional wackos.

But as a fellow young person who has had a bit of media training, he feels compelled to answer...]

( she blinks a few times before a mischievous grin forms right back on her face. )

Huh? Oh, ya mean thiiiiis circle-y round thingie?

( jinx holds up the gemstone up to her eye -- showing off its shine and glory. and instead of heeding his words, the teen plops it back in her mouth, shrugging her shoulders. )

No round thing here! Dunno what you're talkin' about.

Uh-huh.

[He watches her antics with various hints of disgust and trepidation, although probably not for any of the reasons that characters from the same world would be thinking.

The young super will gnaw on the inside of his cheek for a little bit, drawing in a hiss of air before uttering:]

You're really gonna make me come out and say it?

[Every time he tries actively and whole-heartedly not to be an asshole... It always seems to backfire. Why bother, really, honestly...]

I take it that wherever you're from, you don't have a thing called the internet?

( she spits the stone out of her mouth again, this time lets it sit comfortably on her lap. )

So what? Is it like a net that goes inward or somethin'? Sounds stupid.

[ Oh my, what an unhinged young woman. Yosano chuckled to herself upon witnessing the video. Oh to be younger and apathetic to consequences. ]

War crimes unfortunately. Specifically, psychological torture, repeated physical maiming and disfigurement of soldiers, and indirectly causing suicide to my patients. Something I didn't think a magical scroll could dig up and reveal...

[ Which Yosano was not pleased about. Having everyone else here privy to a past she would rather forget and atone for was not something she wanted. ]

—And what was your name again?

[Rex can't really believe that for once in his goddamn life, he is somehow trying to stick to the more serious parts of this conversation.]

It's liiiiike... More of a network, really? A collection of digital information, bein' sent in either text or image form based on code that a buncha dickless nerds thunk up.

[He allows for there to be a pause, a beat, that passes before continuing.

He's not new to the idea of alternate universes or different worlds, having to deal with the real-time repercussions of portals being opened and closed when and where they shouldn't be. Perhaps her version of the world-wide web has a different moniker.]

( her face drops as she goes into length of her crime. and the more this stranger explains, the more her eyes widen -- her pink pupils sparkle in awe. )

Whooa... — So you're REALLY kooky. ( and the smile comes around again as she sits more up right, a cheery pep in her voice. )

Guess I gotta watch out for you, eh? Also, I didn't say the name, Voice Lady, buu~uut ♪ !! Since you're dyin' to know, the name's Jinx. And it stands for Jinx, in case you're wondering.

( she puckers up her lips, her fingernail tapping on her chin as if she is really thinking hard about this. except in reality, half of the stuff he says is going through one ear and out the other. )

Hmmmmm... NOPE!

( jinx claps her hands together while she smiles big at his holograph. )

Never heard of the stuff. Althooouuuuugh, it sounds pretty dynamite. If dickless nerds can thunk it up, I bet I can thunk it up better.

[Kooky as she seems, she's not wrong. He ignores her outlandish body language, looking downwards and letting out a low, raspy chuckle. As with any sound that leaves his throat, it too is textured.]

Oh! But you do have dynamite.

[At the mention of explosions, his eyes light up behind the orange goggles. Also, this is so much better than having to explain why a teenage girl sucking tiny balls on camera may attract some unsolicited attention.]

So I guess your world's not one giant dump of an interdimensional pocket after all!

My city was a dump but not interdimen-whatever. But my lil' toy can throw anyone and anything to realms of heebie-jeebies!

( in which, she shows it off again by holding it up. in theory, jinx probably shouldn't display it the way she is now, but no one about her (as far as she is aware) knows how to work the thing. )

It's why I ain't so worried about this place. I can zip off whenever I feel like it.

( it would be fun to see if he did somehow manage to get it in his ears, though. )

I did the KA-BLAM, the KA-KURCHOW, the PEW-PEW-SPLAT...! — Don't tell me you've never heard of a bomb goin' off before?

( growing old in her sitting position, she changes her arrangement by lying down on the roof. in... which now all he can see is her midriff. her voice is a little out of range, but jinx speaks loud enough for him to still hear her. )

[ Yosano's soft melodic voice carried back over the device. ]

[ Well, mostly. Upon occasion her anger gets the better of her. But she would no longer treat life as carelessly as she did. ]

—I imagine we'll be here a while, so lets get along, yes?

( a tiny snort and a quick flash of a grin. )

You mean, you'll be here for a while. I'm not! I got a way outta here. ( does she? she seems to think so with the gemstone on her person. sadly for her though, she has no clue it's malfunctioning. )

I'm just checking out what kind of digs this place go going. Stock up some materials then I'm poppin' away. But 'till then, just don't look at me funny and it'll be a straight shot.
