[ It's a simple statement, and for a moment it does sound like the message might just cut off there. Just that one flat statement, seemingly devoid of any emotion aside from a vague hint of annoyance.

But then there's a sound that's faintly like a step, then a grumble, and then the message continues anyway. Still mostly deadpan, but a little more annoyed this time. ]

Sure, I get it. The whole crime and punishment theming? Very cute. Maybe start using that talent to build an amusement park or something more productive next time, if this sort of thing is your hobby. Either way, it's really not done to let yourself be heard on the way in, and then just act like you're not there.

[ A slight pause-- and then a sigh. ]

Just tell me someone can point me to the witch. I really don't have time to be beating around the bush.

Talk about a press x to doubt situation, since Ange is pretty sure most places out there have got to have some sort of fairytale witch story of some kind or another. But calling that out just seems bothersome, so-- whatever. She can talk. ]

There's a lot of fairytales out there about women with magical powers who eat kids for fun, or just generally torment people to get a kick out of it. Those stories are actually real, or at least witches are. It's kind of hard to summarize them since they can have a whole array of magical powers, but they're generally supernatural beings who get so bored with living such a long life that they start playing with regular humans as if those are just toys.

i will say, there are fairies, so i don't see why there couldn't be a witch. that said, whoever brought us here? we haven't seen a smidge.

[ See, now this is information she can work with. Assuming this person is telling the truth, but-- whatever, that's something she can sort out later when she might not be feeling quite as paranoid as she does right now. ]

we've had some things happen, but there isn't enough data to assume these are joint issues - our captors, and the things that are native to this place.

Makes sense. I assume that no one has been here long enough to tell what's usual for this place then. [ At least that seems like a good thing, Ange supposes. The situation would look a whole lot more bleak if people had already been stuck here for years. ]

Could you describe the nature of the things that have happened? From how it looked to you, anyway.
