[ Emet-Selch is unfortunately too incensed by these images to pick up on the ulterior motive. ]
I feel as though I cannot take five paces without seeing one out of the corner of my eye. Mayhap I should be thankful that the more outrageous designs are in discreet locations. If only they were discreet enough to keep them inside their own homes.
I do not even wish to entertain the thought of their numbers increasing further. If it weren't so much bother I would simply go and destroy them all right now.
They are indecent and crude: all titillation and no artistic merit. Furthermore, I never consented to seeing these depraved works in the open and I'm sure I am not the only one. 'Tis impossible to simply avoid looking when one's gaze is unable to escape them in the first place.
Well, that seems a shame. Art is meant to provoke after all!
But if it's not your thing it's not your thing.
I'll certainly take a look so I will have a thorough idea of what you're talking about but...you know...
It does occur to me it might be someone else's thing. That they might even take[pleasure is not a great word here]a kind of happiness from looking at it. Is it right to take it away?
[though he might just snag a few pieces for a private collection depending on the nature of them]
Then they can join the crude masses and create their own effigies in the privacy of their own homes. I shan't stop them.
If they are so desperate for public approval then they can form a gallery where like-minded individuals can gather and oggle - rather than flaunt this indecency where anyone can see.

What is it about them that you find so greatly offensive anyway? Have you tried not looking?

Are you sure that this outrage isn't covering up some latent[a beat] interest in these works?
There's no shame in it.

Absolutely certain.
[ It's not like he's been missing someone for over ten thousand years. Nope. Couldn't be him. ]

[and he can't help but wonder if this man would be peeking in the gallery just to be disgusted at it]

[ And Stede may even get to see this old man arguing that very proposal with the locals later. To very little effect. ]
