...When you put it that way, you're likely correct.

There were several AI that were forcibly given sentience where I'm from. One of them, MINERVA, was miserable and terrified. Even the ones who were at peace with it preferred to give up their independence and return to their original state.

AI allowed to grow and flourish in a positive direction is a wonderful thing, though.
