Well, back in my day — [ he starts, and then just sort of dissolves into snickers, biting down on actual outright laughter, because, yeah, yeah, sure he is not all that up to date with some modern things! so just let him make fun of himself for a second here.
(does he register the fact okcindr is a dating app? absolutely not. would he have done the same even if he did? yes, absolutely.)
the command makes him blink confusedly for a second before he's aiming a sweet, earnest smile at junpei and saying, ] Where would I go?
[ but he does as instructed, standing still while junpei walks around the counter — and he doesn't really have a clue what's going on, not yet having clued in that this is picture-related... and so, as junpei quite literally gets close enough to be pressed against his side, his arm around his shoulders —
well, it's not really charles' fault he sort of loses track of things a little, there. crouching down in an automatic response to the tugging, he looks at junpei with slightly wide eyes, before he seems to realise he should be doing something; his own arm wraps around junpei's back, with his palm resting right at his waist in a move as automatic as the crouching. is it necessary? not at all, and yet... well.
and oh, then there's the mention of selfies, and he sort of gets with the program. ] Is there really something like being bad at selfies? [ it seems like such an easy thing to do, just looking at the camera... and he's not entirely sure how he's going to make up the difference in any way, but sure!
smile, junpei says, and charles beams at him, a smile that's as sincere as it's happy. and it's a good thing the timed mode takes a few pictures in a row, because the first one of them is just that: charles, looking at junpei instead of the camera, expression bright and soft and open. he does remember to look at the phone for the next few, though, so... success?
once the click-click-clicks indicating the photos being taken are done, charles, incidentally not letting go of junpei, turns back to him with his eyebrows raised. ] So?
