[ When the video starts, Mitama's expression is entirely serious, almost uncharacteristically so. But that's what the situation calls for, and she wants it known that what she's about to say is not a joke. ]

To those who have left to fight the monster, please, be careful. I have no doubt you have what it takes to defeat it, but keep in mind it might be affected by the recent affliction, too, and its behavior may be unpredictable as the result. So don't do anything reckless. Remember, there's no shame in falling back if you feel like you need to take a break. Stay together, look out for each other, and make sure you all return home safely.

[ She makes a poignant pause, her stare intense as she looks into the camera. Once again, she's powerless to protect anyone, and all she can do it plead that the people who can do something about the situation do so... It's frustrating, but she chooses not to dwell on it when there are more pressing matters to attend. ]

To those who remained in Aldrip, if you need a safe place to stay, feel free to come over to my shop. That includes both the Chosen and the locals ─ if you see any of them in the buildings that are in danger of collapsing, please direct them here. I might not be a fighter, but I can protect my own shop, at least.

[ It wouldn't be the first time for her shop to play the role of an evacuation center, and she's more than willing to make sure it fits everyone who needs a shelter. And while it might come as a surprise to some, this time there is no mention of her seeking any kind of compensation for it. As it turns out, she actually does have some standards.

But as the arrives at the conclusion, her expression finally eases up into a smile that people are used to seeing from her. ]

How much space do you have at your shop? For how many people?

[ Because Ange has been looking for safe spaces to send people over to, and those definitely aren't in high supply right now when each building is a potential hazard right now.

And though Mitama is.. well, Mitama, Ange is serious enough right now about what she's trying to do that she doesn't mind asking the other a serious question, hoping for a non-teasing answer in the current circumstances. ]

[Well look at that! A video feed from Akechi instead of the usual text. He's wearing a serious expression, one that is fit for the context of their situation. Although, there's no the usual tired nor annoyed strain in his eyes and his voice sounds somehow.. lighter?]

Good work, Mitama-san. The more shelters we have the better. Will you be able to handle yourself in case the people in your shop get hostile?

[ No need to worry, Ange ─ while Mitama sure loves being her weird, dire circumstances do manage to bring her more mature side to the surface. ]

I'd say around 30, give or take. That's assuming they don't mind sleeping on the floor, but I'll be providing simple bedding for everyone, of course. I can accomodate more if need be, though I can't guarantee comfortable conditions then. And that's not taking into account the need to feed them all for an extended period of time...

[ She makes a pause, the sound of a pencil scribbling on paper as she begins to crunch some numbers. Food shortages are already a problem thanks to the spreading rot, but if more trouble is on its way, things will only get worse... ]

Ah, but that's not the point, isn't it? We need to prioritize everyone's safety, first and foremost.

[ Talk about an unexpected development! Could it be that, despite the circumstances, Goro Akechi is... in a good mood for once? That alone is suspicious, but for the time being, she has no reason not to assume there's anything supernatural about it. ]

Not at all! I can't join others on their mission, so this is the least I can do.

[ She makes a small pause, her smile turning a little wry. ]

Ah, well, I'm sure I can handle a person or two getting rowdy! Though I must admit, I could use some help in case people become aggressive due to the spread of the corruption...

[ Her magic is, after all, a curse, and it's hard to fight fire with fire when your goal is to prevent everything from burning down around you. ]

[Well, it honestly wouldn't be too surprising for him to be in a good mood in situation like this, would it? Considering his love for violence and all.

He chuckles a little at that comment.]

I'll keep that in mind when directing people to your shop. I might not be able to fight everyone off, but I wouldn't mind helping you there, Mitama-san. [dramatic pause.]

But it will cost you.

[ Then the question she would be asking is "why isn't he on the battlefield yet"; actually, she's asking herself that regardless! It's a surprise to see him stay behind to help with the evacuation efforts, but a welcome one ─ that means they still have a capable fighter left behind in Aldrip.

Mitama blinks, taken aback by his statement at first, but then she lets out a small laugh. ]

Oh, I wouldn't dare suggest otherwise! Miss Coordinator always pays back her debts, you know~

[He knows how to speak your language, girl!]

Of course, I wouldn't expect anything less of you. But alright, I'll drop by your shop to see if everything is alright.

Perfect! I'll be happy to offer you an adjustment in return; I'm sure you could use one in this situation!

[ She's not sure how many people capable of fighting are left in Aldrip, but she'd better make sure they're all in top shape, just in case the town gets dragged into the battle, too. ]

Well, it's going to be a delicate balance between what's practical and what's necessary.

[ Even if the girl isn't really used to situations like this, she can still tell. They have to make sure that people are safe first and foremost indeed, but this destruction is for sure going to lead to other logistical pains later on. ]

For now I just need some spot they can be safe. I can't just shove them into random buildings when everything is at risk of collapsing right now. If you say they'll be safe with you, I'll try herding people in that direction from out here.

While it certainly wouldn't hurt to have some extra boost, I can't help but think that you're trying to wiggle your way out of owing me.

My, is this the kind of reputation Miss Coordinator has gained? How unfortunate... I'll have you know I have nothing but the purest of intentions!

[ Yet she doesn't deny it, because he hit the nail on the head. But she still gives him the oh-so-hurt puppy eyes ─ just to stay in-character, since she knows better than to expect it to work on him, of course. ]

[Despite his altered state Akechi still has a vivid memory of Mitama and her antics. Akechi keeps smiling at the video, gesturing at the air with his hand.]

Oh! Are you saying that miss Coordinator is offering her services for free this time? In that case how could I say no to you?

[ Hm, she has to admit, he got her there. Still, it's okay if he wins this round; there's a bigger fish to fry at the moment, so she might as well give him an inch. ]

Thaaat's right! After all, we're all fighting for a common cause, no? It's the least I can do for those who are keeping us safe~

[ Besides, she's... curious. It's just a hunch, and it might end up being a waste of magical energy, but she wonders if there's anything about his current behavior that's not exactly natural, and if that is the case, she'd like to find out more by adjusting him. ]

Right you are! I'll do my best to accommodate everyone, but safety is the number one priority right now. Everything else can be rebuilt, as long as we protect the people.

[ Despite the seriousness of the subject at hand, Mitama finally smiles and allows her tone to become a little lighter; she has no intention of messing around with people for the time being, but a little positivity can go a long way. ]

Oh, but do take care to stay safe first and foremost, okay? You won't be able to help anyone unless you're fine yourself.

[ She'd probably give that remark to anyone willing to help out, but this goes double for Ange, since Mitama isn't... entirely sure how much she values her own safety, so to speak? So she figures a reminder is in order. ]

[ Flatly. Instantly. ]

[ It'd probably sound a whole lot meaner if it wasn't for the fact that there's no venom in it at all.. It's more deadpan than Ange aggressively being hostile, really. Mitama is probably perceptive enough to be able to tell the difference. ]

Everyone is probably going to get at least a little bit hurt in the middle of this chaos. And I'm perfectly capable of dealing with it.

Personally, I prefer "ally", but I suppose the customer is always right, so you can call me that if you wish!

[ No kinkshaming on her part! In fact, she wouldn't be the first of her client to say she has some "motherly" vibes. Even though she's still a teenager...

Still, she knows Ange meant no offense with her remark, so she's gonna let that one slide. Mitama doesn't seem to be put off by the dismissive remark, either, knowing full well the other girl is capable of handling herself. ]

Just as expected of our reliable Ange-chan! I feel more at ease already, knowing you'll be out there helping us all~ ♥

There's just.. a pause this time.. Just some silence.. Ange probably has to pinch the bridge of her nose over how Tortured she is over here, feeling rather glad that she at least opted to not show her face to the other. It's one thing to deal with total chaos in town, and it's another thing entirely to deal with Mitama at the same time. ]

Hey, why does talking to you always make me want to chew my own arm off just to get away from the conversation?

[ ANGE!! ]

[ Her expression sours, making her look almost hurt. Not that she hasn't heard this sort of thing before, or takes it seriously ─ she's had a lot worse insults hurled at her. ]

Aww, don't be like that... I'm just trying to be nice!

[ "Insufferable" is the word some would use, but those people clearly don't know what they're talking about! ]

Surely, you have it in your heart to consider me a useful companion, at least?

[ N-No, Mitama.. You can't do this to her, okay. You can't throw that reaction at her. A-Ange is cool, and cold, and unfeeling, and above this all, and..

.. ugh, why does she feel bad. Can someone Google for her how to get rid of your sense of guilt? Thanks in advance. ]

[ Why does she sound so flustered to have to admit even that much.. ]

[ Only the highest of compliments here, clearly.. Forced out of her.. ]

[ She may sound like she's in physical pain, forcing herself to say that, but if Mitama notices it (and she does), it certainly doesn't show in her response. She brightens up immediately at the, uh, praise, apparently perfectly happy with it. In fact, with the way she responds, you'd think Ange has just confessed her love to her. ]

Yaaay~ ♥ I'm glad you think so! It wouldn't do if my clients were displeased with my services, after all ♪
