[You know, Astralin has tablets back at home. He KNOWS how to use them, despite being a farm hand. This tablet was no different.

Or maybe it was.

Fellow Chosen, you may be getting multiple pictures of cows, chickens, piglets, chocobos, a frozen morbol coming your way. Accidents certainly happen, and he meant to be sending these pictures to his friends, but... He accidentally hit the send all button, and there's nothing he can do about it now.

So, enjoy those pictures of multiple animals in different angles.]

A 'morbol'... Huh. Sure. If nothing else, I'd love to take a closer look at it.

[ He was already outdoors, taking a small break from helping with the construction efforts, but he stands and starts to make his way towards the meadows. ]

It's not going to melt before I get there, is it? It's been getting warmer lately.

You are more than welcome to come and examine it. I think being in a pillar of ice will keep it safe.

[It doesn't look like this tablet has any GPS on it, but...]

No. The unique thing about my power is that it will not melt unless I will it. So, you are free to examine it, and study it as you will.

[A pause.]

I am out in the meadowlands, not too far from Aldrip. Should you need any direction, the neighboring farmers will guide you to my farm.

Got it. Give me a little while to get there. I'll call you again if I'm still lost.

[ He briefly turns off the charm to focus on getting directions. After an appropriate amount of time, Astralin will spot a young man with red hair walking towards his farm. William knows he's found the right place when he can see the figure of the frozen morbol in the field. ]

Hello!

[ He raises his hand and waves. ]

[With a new guest coming to the farm, he wonders if he should prepare a cup of tea or not. He'll definitely ask when William comes to the farm, and he waits patiently for him by the morbol that's entrapped in ice. Immediate footstep in the vicinity capturing his attention -- his eyes staring over at the young one with a smile of his own, as he raises his hand to wave in turn.]

Ah, hello. This is the uhm... Plant? I believe you wanted to inspect?

[He steps to the side so that William can have much more room to inspect the morbol up close. The creature, luckily, dead in it's tracks.]

Are you a scientist of sorts?

[ A shake of his head before his eyes go to the morbol. Despite being encased in ice, the creature is still a bit intimidating. (And to think, he has no idea how much smellier it also is.) ]

I'm not a scientist, no, but I think it's important to learn what you can about the monsters you live with so you understand how to manage them. I had a very thorough tutor growing up.

[ It paid off in the end. He still thinks of Gus' lessons with fondness. ]

You said it was called a morbol. Did you name it or...?

I see; it is good to be meticulous then. Although, I cannot tell you much of anything about it, as it is not from my world.

[He remembers what Graha Tia and Erich said about it. And then some whispering about it from others.]

I did not. From what another person has said, it comes from the star, 'Etheirys'. Apparently, from what I recall from another, they are ambulatory flora that use noxious breath to attack. I must admit, before encasing it in ice, the smell was... Quite pungent.

N-Noxious breath, you say...

[ How noxious, he wonders? Would Gracefeel's protection extend to something like this? Hmm... ]

Would you be able to refreeze it again if you released it? I kind of want to try fighting it.

Yes. It was not pleasant when it tried to attack me, but I made sure to... Take care of it so it would not affect the area around us.

[A pause. Hmm. He has wonder if it's dead or not, but even so...]

I could refreeze it, yes. However, I am unsure if that is wise... Or perhaps it is just the father in me that thinks it is unwise. I am sure you are capable of taking care of yourself; I do just worry.

[ He slaps a hand against his chest, smiling. ]

Don't worry. I had a great teacher. I'm confident in my own strength - and I'm sure you'll help me if I do get in over my head.

[ If you can't beat it smartly, you can always just use brute force! ]

If nothing else, I can lead it further away from your farm so it doesn't bother the other animals.

[MAN... he doesn't know about this, but he seemed confident enough, and who was he to say no? Astralin is quiet for a short moment, before he nods in agreement. Although a bit hesitantly, given how it could be dangerous but he would step in if he needed any help.

So, he takes a step forward, and presses his hand against the frozen morbol. The ice beginning to dissipate from it's body. The morbol beginning to move as it starts to squirm around from it's supposed slumber.]

If at any time if gives you trouble, I will refreeze it.

[ William hadn't brought his spear with him, having not thought he would need it whilst helping to build houses. That's fine though, he thinks. He has his Words and his own strength.

As the morbol starts to try and wriggle out of its icy prison, William raises his voice to attract its attention. ]

Over here! Hey!

[ It doesn't look like it has eyes. A sound-based monster then? ]

[Astralin never noticed it didn't have eyes, but seeing it up close now a bit better now, he can't help but feel a bit... Well. Grossed out. The smell was now apparent, as Erich stated, but he ignores it for now, as the morbol begins to move toward William at the sound of his voice.

His eyes peered up, as he realizes that William doesn't have a weapon, and he wonders if... He should craft him a weapon from his ice. Absently biting as his lip, as he lifts his hand and an ice spike forms at the base of his hand.]

Call out of you need any assistance, young man! Else I am trusting you to handle this.

[ He lifts an arm and waves to show that he heard them. Then focuses utterly on the ambulant plant crawling his way. ]

Flammo ignis!

[ Fire bursts into life on the morbol. William can't imagine that the creature likes burning, so he readies himself with the Word for acceleration on his tongue just in case he needs to flee. ]

[Oh my. Fire magic is not what he was expecting at all, and he blinks in surprise when the morbol practically bursts into flames at the fire magic. Definitely not liking being set on fire, that was for sure, since it was a plant in more ways than one.

So, it isn't any surprise to Astralin once the morbol attempts to leave the scene. His hand immediately extending out, and encasing it's tentacles in a cage of ice so that it won't be going anywhere near the city.]

Not so fast, creature.

[ Oops. Whilst he had successfully set the creature on fire, he hadn't accounted for where it might try to flee. He quickly around to place himself between the morbol and way to Aldrip, just in case. ]

Sorry! That went better than I thought.

[Luckily, the morbol isn't going anywhere now. ... But now it's opening it's mouth. About to cast bad breath on William if he doesn't move. Which prompts Astralin to slam his fist into the ground, so that an ice barrier forms around the younger man.]

Watch out for it's noxious breath!

[ How bad could its breath be? William wants to find out but not so badly that he'll stand right in front and take the full brunt of it. He runs back to its flank right before it spews its nauseating miasma.

He reels from the stench. Gods above, that's a LOT worse than he could have even imagined. ~~He feels like he's taking poison damage just from proximity.~~

He backs away with his mouth and nose covered, dry retching, eyes watering. ]
